Midcentury modern kitchen renovation by NYC-based Liz Curry Studio. The kitchen features walnut cabinets, open shelving, and terrazzo floors. There are matte black accents including the custom matte black range hood and black hardware. The countertops and the geometric tile backsplash are botha glossy white.

Midcentury Gem

Renovation of a small but mighty kitchen for a 1950s home in Maplewood NJ.  This design gestated as an homage to the architecture of the house and the design sensibilities of the clients, whose great appreciation for mid-century modern style permeates every square inch of their home.

Walnut cabinetry, white graphic tile, crisp countertops and black trim are anchored by the warm tones of the terrazzo floors. Although the overall design concept is rooted in a mid-century aesthetic, the materials and finishes reflect a thoroughly modern, ‘smart technology’ way of living, with features that maximize function in the limited space.
